Why a Scarf?

The scarf is a powerful symbol of identity, dignity and support.

For many people undergoing or recovering from treatment, a scarf becomes part of daily life—something that offers warmth, comfort, or confidence. On Scarf Day, we invite everyone to wear one as a gesture of solidarity. It’s a simple act that says: We see you. We stand with you.

Honouring Our Everyday Heroes

The intent behind Scarf Day is to gently acknowledge the quiet heroism of those affected by head and neck cancer. “Heroes” is meant in the broadest and most inclusive sense. It recognises:

  • People who have completed treatment
  • Those currently undergoing treatment
  • Individuals living with long‑term impacts
  • Carers, families and supporters who walk beside them every day

This day is about human experience, not equipment or outcomes. It’s about dignity, resilience, and community.

How You Can Take Part

  • Wear a scarf—your own or one purchased through the fundraiser
  • Donate to support improved patient care
  • Share the message to help raise awareness
  • Stand in solidarity with those whose lives have been touched by head and neck cancer

Every scarf worn and every dollar raised helps us continue to provide compassionate, high‑quality care.
