Across Perth’s southern corridor, lives are transformed every day through care that heals, comforts and inspires.

Our Story
Pulse: South Metro Health Foundation was established in 2025 as the first dedicated charitable foundation for the South Metropolitan Health Service which operates the Fiona Stanley, Fremantle, Rockingham and Peel public hospitals.
We aspire to work with our communities by supporting the people, the ideas and the innovations that will change lives.
We do this through:
Patient Care
Enhancing the comfort, dignity, and experience of patients.
Healthcare Innovation
Funding breakthrough ideas, research, and technologies that push healthcare forward.
Community Health & Prevention
Backing grassroots health initiatives — especially for vulnerable groups.
Workforce & Education
Supporting the wellbeing, leadership, and professional development of healthcare workers.
We don’t fund business-as-usual operations — we focus on high-impact, future-ready initiatives that would otherwise go unfunded.Backing grassroots health initiatives — especially for vulnerable groups.

Mission
We enable community-led health improvements across Perth’s southern corridor — backing ideas that transform care.

Vision
A future where every person across Perth’s southern suburbs has access to extraordinary care — powered by innovation and compassion, supported by an independent foundation that enables progress.
How We Work With South Metropolitan Health Service
Pulse is an independent charity. While we partner closely with South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS), we are governed separately and make our own funding decisions.
We align with SMHS-identified health priorities — funding research, equipment, innovation, and workforce wellbeing — but we focus on what philanthropy can uniquely unlock.
We fund what government can’t. That’s the power of Pulse — and our responsibility.
